Orlando Facelift pt. 2
Risks:
As with any surgery, there are certain potential risks
of a facelift. However, they are relatively rare
and should not deter a well-informed patient.
Potential complications include hematoma
(a collection of blood under the skin that must be removed
by the surgeon), temporary nerve interference, and infection.
A risk to smokers, specifically, is poor healing of the
skin.
As with any surgical procedure, risks
can be reduced and fully avoided by carefully choosing the
right doctor and adhering to his or her advice.
Recovery:
Removal of Sutures: Usually about 7-10 days after
surgery
Fading of Visible Reactions: Some swelling and discoloration
is normal for about 10-14 days following surgery
Back to Work: Most patients can usually
get back into normal work and social routines after about
2 weeks
Duration of Results: Having
a facelift will help the aging process run more smoothly
and make it more bearable for you. Once you've had it done,
you'll always look better with each passing year than you
would have without a facelift. However, gravity does inevitably
take effect, so a repeat procedure may be desired years down
the road.
